Plain text of Book 19, Hymn 36

The hundred-haired remedy hath banished hence fiends and consumptions by God's might; with splendour hath the charm that scares evil spirits of ill-name mounted up.

2 It drives off evil spirits with its horns and sorceresses with its root, it stays consumption with its waist: from this, by God's leave, no wickedness escapes.

3 Consumptions, light and serious, and those which sounds accompany, all these the hundred-haired remedy, scarer of fiends, hath banished hence.

4 A hundred men hath it produced, a hundred consumptions chased away; all fiends of evil name it hath smitten, and sunk the rebels.

5 The bull that weareth horns of gold, this remedy with hundred hairs, hath cleft the evil spirits of ill-name and overcome the rebels.

6 A hundred she-fiends, and a hundred evil spirits, I keep away with the hundred-haired, trusting in God.
