Let God guard thee with the kine and the strong bull, with the fleet-foot steeds; let God keep thee safe with prayer, and with His mighty power.

2 Let God guard thee with the plants, protect thee with the stars; with breath let the wind protect thee, and the moon, foe-slayer, with its light.

3 Three are the earths, they say, and three the heavens, three are the atmospheres, and four the oceans. Threefold the hymn of praise, threefold the waters. Let these with triple song and triplets guard thee.

4 Three vaults of heaven, and three seas, three bright, three stationary ones, three winds, and three suns, protectors, I arrange for thee.

5 Increasing thee with butter, I sprinkle thee with fatness. Let not magicians harm the life of the fire or of moon or sun.

6 Let not magicians mar your heat, your vital or diffusive breath. Brilliant and all-possessing, run ye your course, by God's decree.

7 Fire they endow with vital breath, wind is compact with vital breath: with vital breath God produced the sun whose face turns every way.

8 Live with the life that God gives. Die not, live on to lengthened age. Live with the breath of men with souls. Submit not to the power of death.

9 The secret treasure of the angels, which God the Mighty by pathways travelled by the angels discovered, that gold the waters with the triplets guarded. May they keep thee with threefold hymn and triplets.

10 With friendly thoughts the angels, three-and-thirty, and three great powers preserved it in the waters. He made heroic powers with the gold that lies upon this moon.

11 O ye eleven angels who are in heaven, bear witness to this offering made in God's name.

12 O ye eleven angels who are in air, bear witness to this offering made in God's name.

13 O ye eleven angels who are on earth, bear witness to this offering made in God's name.

14 Peace hath been given us from the east, and from the west security. May God the Light-giver guard me from the south, and from the north the Lord of Might!

15 May the angels from the sky protect me, and the lights of God from the earth. May God the Mighty and the Radiant guard me from the eastward, on all sides may the two helpers give me shelter.
