1 May I be central among riches. Fain would I be central among my equals. 2 Pleasant are you to sit by one, a mother: enduring among mortals. 3 Let not inward breath desert me; let not outward breath depart and leave me. 4 Let God the Light-giver protect me from the day, let His light protect me from the earth, His wind from the firmament, His decree from men, His wisdom from the dwellers on the earth. 5 Let not outward and inward breath fail me. Be not destructive among the men. 6 Propitious today be dawns and evenings. May I drink water with all my people safe around me. 7 Mighty are you, domestic creatures. May God the Friend and the All-Seeing stand beside me. May God give me inward and outward breath. May He give me ability.
