Plain text of Book 15, Hymn 12
1 The man to whose house, when the household offering has been prepared for God's sake, the devotee possessing this knowledge comes as a guest, 2 should of his own accord rise to meet him and say, Devotee, give me permission; I will make the offering. 3 And if he gives permission he should make the offering; if he does not permit him he should not. 4 He who makes the offering when permitted by the devotee who possesses this knowledge 5 well knows the path that leads to the righteous forefathers and the way that leads to the Garden. 6 He does not act in opposition to the angels. It becomes his accepted offering. 7 The abode of the man who makes the offering when permitted by the devotee who possesses this knowledge is long left remaining in this world. 8 But he who makes the offering without the permission of the devotee who possesses this knowledge 9 knows not the path that leads to the righteous forefathers nor the way that leads to the Garden. 10 He is at variance with the angels. He has made no accepted offering. 11 The abode of the man who makes the offering without the permission of the devotee who possesses this knowledge is not left remaining in this world.
