Plain text of Hymn 6
May half-years and seasons, the years, and all the Verities, and the seers glorify Thee, O God the Radiant! Flash forth with Thy celestial effulgence: illumine all four regions of the heavens.
Kindle, O God, and make this man prosper: raise him up erect for high and happy fortune. Let those be uninjured who adore Thee, and may Thy servants be glorious and no others.
These scholars have elected Thee: be Thou propitious in our sacred chamber. Slayer of rivals, quell our foemen: watch in our house with care that never ceases.
Hold firmly Thy power, O God, and be a friend to us by way of friendship. Placed in the centre of our fellows, shine forth to be invoked by kings around Thee.
Past those who slay, past enemies, past thoughtless men, past those who hate,--yea, hear us safe past all distresses: give Thou us opulence with men about us.
