Plain text of Book 7, Hymn 97
As we have here elected thee, skilled priest! to-day as this our devotion proceeds, come to the firm place, mightiest! yea, come firmly. Knowing the devotion, approach.
2 With kine connect us, and with spirit, O Lord of the bay steeds, with princes and with favour, with the God-destined portion of the learned, and the good-will of the righteous who merit honour.
3 The willing angels whom Thou, O God, hast brought, send Thou to their own dwelling-place. Endow this man with precious wealth.
4 Go to the offering, go to its master, O devotion! To thy birthplace go.
5 This is thy devotion with holy hymnal, Lord of the Rite, and fraught with vigour.
6 Offerings paid and yet unpaid, may they be accepted by God, who knows the way, and finds and pursues it!
7 Lord of the mind, lay this our offering in heaven: praise in heaven! praise on earth! praise in air! In wind have I paid offerings.
