Plain text of Book 6, Hymn 99
O God the Mighty, before affliction comes, I call Thee from the wide expanse. The mighty guardian, born of none, to whom belong the most beautiful names, I call.
2 Whatever deadly missile launched to-day flies forth to slaughter us, we take both arms of God the Mighty to encompass us on every side.
3 We draw about us both the arms of the Mighty, our deliverer. May they protect us thoroughly. O God, the Light-giver, O King of provision, make Thou me pious-minded for my welfare.
