Plain text of Book 6, Hymn 71
What food I eat of varied form and nature, food whether gold, or horse, sheep, goat, or bullock, whatever gift I have received, may God accept it as an offering well made.
2 Whatever, offered or not, has reached me, bestowed by men and sanctioned by the elders, whereby my heart seems to leap up, may God make that an offering well made.
3 What food I eat unjustly, or, doubtful between bestowing and refusing, swallow, through the greatness of God, Friend of all men, may that same food be sweet to me and blessed!
