Plain text of Book 4, Hymn 32
1 He who hath reverenced Thee, O Avenger, destructive bolt! breeds for himself forthwith all conquering energy.
Foes of every kind will we conquer with Thine aid, with Thee the conqueror, with conquest conquest-sped.
2 The Avenger is the Mighty, yea, the Avenger is the All-Seeing, the All-Knowing—names of the One God.
The tribes of men worship Him. Accordant, with Thy fervour, O Lord! guard us.
3 Come hither, Lord, mightier than the mighty: smite, with Thy fervour for ally, our foemen.
Slayer of foes, of the dragon, and of the wicked, bring Thou to us all kinds of wealth and treasure.
4 For Thou art, O Lord, of surpassing vigour, fierce, queller of the foe, and self-subsisting,
Known to all men, victorious, Subduer: vouchsafe to us superior strength in battles.
5 I have departed still without a portion, wise God! according to Thy will, the mighty.
I, feeble man, was wroth with Thee, O Lord. Give us vigour.
6 I am all Thine own: turn Thou to me, Victorious, All-bestowing.
Bethink Thee of Thy servant, and slay the wicked.
7 Approach, and be on our right hand, then let us slay a multitude of foemen.
The best of our wealth we offer in charity for Thy sake: may we be first to enjoy it in quiet.
